The Story of Simon “GHOST” Riley (Modern Warfare Story)

 Now as far as ghost goes there's many things we don't know about him. We don't have a birth date but we do know he was born in Manchester England but just looking at him that brings up a lot of questions. Why people call him ghost why does he wear mask and all of these questions weren't answered in Modern Warfare 2 campaign. But the one thing a lot of people don't know is ghost story does not begin in Modern Warfare 2. As it turns out before the launch of Modern Warfare 2 Activision and Infinity ward launched six comics revoluing around Simon Ghost Riley. So before we dive into Modern Warfare 2 we first have to look at these comics and these comics are actually really confusing so I broke it down into a synopsis of what these comics are all about. Now the comics begin with a soldier begin in a classroom wearing a ghost mask. Now the soldier tries to distract the kids and the terrorists by telling the story of why he wear this mask he says he wearing this mask to honour his friend

who died and this story that he tells is the origin story of Simon Ghost Riley. Now through this story we find out about Simon Ridley's upbringing in Manchester England we find out that he had an extremely abusive father who would constantly torture and torment him bringing dangerous animals into the house and making him kiss them or bringing him to a concert and killing a hooker and then making Simon look at the hooker and laugh to get away from his farther Simon end joining the British SAS and eventually essentially becomes a super that they would call in for very important missions and the mission  that comics are about is Simon getting send after a man name Manuel Roba who is basically a drug lord in Mexico. Now eventually Ghost ends up getting caught by Manuel Roba and tortured . Tortured by a man who is wearing a ghost mask. Now eventually they end up leaving Simon Ghost Riley in a graw with a dead body of one of his fellow soldiers which eventually ghost manage to escape from. Now upon turning home to Manchester he finds a friend talk about things including PTSD and eventually confides in his mother telling his mother that he is seeing ghost faces.

His mother tells him that when he was a kid his father used to paint his face like a ghost when he used to go to concert and then later Simon actually as a flashback of him as a kid and his brother scaring him in the middle of the night once again wearing a ghost mask. Now when Manuel Roba find out that Simon is alive and at home he sent someone after him out instead of killing him he instead kills his entire family and framed Simon to make it look like he killed them. Now when Simon finds out who actually did it goes find that person and it was someone he actually worked in the military with he end up killing him blowing up the building that he's in and leaving his own dog tags behind. Faking his death and a Simon in the comics after this what was left of him was just a ghost. Now after  faking his death he'd manages to go kill Manuel Roba as ghost. But the big twist is at the end when we go back to the school and he finishes telling the story as it turns out the person telling the story the whole time was none other than Simon Ghost Riley. He ends up killing the terrorists and saving the day but here is the weird part. Originally at the very beginning of the story when he told us that he wears the ghost mask to commemorate a friend I really do think he means that. After all of these hardships he went through with his father and brother and begin tortured by Manuel Roba his family being killed when he eventually leaves his dog tags behind in that exploding building. I really do think that with the death of Simon Riley and the birth of ghosts. Now saving the day what we find out is that mission that he was on at the schoolhouse was not a mission for the British SAS

but rather a mission for Task Force 141. And this is where the events of call of duty modern warfare 2 begin. So Simon Riley eventually ends up joining Task Force 141 recruited by general Shepard of course he doesn't go by his name Simon Riley but rather takes the call sign Ghost. Ghost first mission is Operation Kingfish where they go after Makarow and this mission was completely unsuccessfully in fact so unsuccessful that price ends up getting self captured after which they end up hopping to go to Rio De Janeiro and hunting down Roja where we get to see ghost torturing someone to get the location of him . After this they end up capturing Roja and the crew narrowly escapes getting to the chopper. The next mission that ghost gets sent on is aboard an oil rig where they are sent to save hostages. This mission goes completely successfully.

And then the crew is sent to a Russian gulag to rescue prisoner 627 and as it turns out they end up knowing this prisoner quite well. Now after rescuing price and narrowly escaping the collapsing gulag the crew ends up getting more information on Makarow and ends up finding out two potential locations as to where he could be hiding. One was boneyard so Soap and Price go to that location. The other possible location is Makarow safe house near the Russian border. So Roach and Ghost get sent to that location. Now upon getting to that location they find the safehouse infiltrate it and realize that Makarow is not there. However there's a giant computer system setup where they are informed that they should probably take all of the information off the computer and put it on a data recovery device. So the to extract the data and narrowly escape from safehouse when they are met by general Shepherd to evac them and that is when one of the most devastating scenes and any of the call of duty's happen.

Now that is the sad end to our hero Simon Ghost Riley. After all the hardships he went through with his farther and the SAS going in to Task Force 141 and eventually begin betrayed by his general Shepherd but here's the thing ghost was whittled down to nothing after his family was killed after he beat and tortured he said that he was a ghost.
